PURPOSE: To select a proper use for thermal power by way of either an operating lever or a thermal power adjusting dial distinctively in order to simplify the operation for performing minute adjustment and a large extent adjustment of the thermal power by providing a thermal power adjusting dial which brings a wick up or down to the position of combustion with a descending or ascending operation of the dial and brings the wick raised to the position of combustion down by a downward turning operation and brings the wick up by an upward turning action of the dial.

CONSTITUTION: When an operating lever 29 rotates about 50°, a sliding pin 32 rotates clockwise an interlinking body 21 with a gear 33 rotating a thermal power adjusting dial 37 through a gear 38. A wick height adjusting body 19 rotates a shaft 17 for lifting up and lowering down the wick with the turning of an interlocking body 21 and at the same time an operating plate 24 is turned clockwise through a pin 25 to raise the wick 12 to its highest position and the operating plate 24 is engaged with an operating body 27 which senses vibration to maintain the raised state of the wick. When a dial 37 is turned downwards about 80° while confirming the indication by a thermal power indicator 39, the gear 38 turns the lever 29 reversely through the gear 33 by a turning angle θ2 of about 20°.
