PURPOSE: To obtain a kerosine which has excellent combustibility, generates a highly clean waste gas when burnt, scarcely emits malodor during handling thereof, and useful for a stove having a wick movable up and down by using a kerosine having specified characteristics values.
CONSTITUTION: A kerosine having the following characteristic values: a kerosine combustibility deterioration index shown by the formula 1.95WNA+0.06V(>T220°C) [wherein WNA is the amount (wt.%) of naphthalene based on the total kerosine and V(<T220°C) is the amount (vol.%) of a fraction having a boiling point above 220°C based on the total kerosine] of 0.1 or less; a sulfur content of 1ppm or less by weight; and a kerosine odor index shown by the formula 0.01V(≤T180°C)+1.2log VA [wherein V(≤T180°C) is the amount (vol.%) of a fraction having a boiling point of 180°C or lower based on the total kerosine and VA is the amount (vol.%) of aromatic matter based on the total kerosine] of 1.5 or less.
