To provide a method for easily knitting a knitted fabric with a three-dimensional hood, having excellent fitness, by using a flat knitting machine.

In the method, since the hood 11 is knitted in a state in which the vertical direction in wearing is made in parallel with the longitudinal direction of needlebed, darts 6 are easily formed only by carrying out knitting in a folded manner. The head part 3 of the hood 11 becomes a three-dimensional shape with a roundness by formation of the darts 6 to improve fitness in wearing. When the knitting position of the hood and the knitting in a folded manner are adjusted, the size of the hood is easily changed.
