Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing L-amino acid such as L-glutamic acid.SOLUTION: Bacteria having an L-amino acid production ability, modified to have an increased activity of non-PTS fructose uptake carrier and an increased activity of fructokinase, are cultured in a culture medium containing fructose, and L-amino acid is collected from the culture medium and/or cells of the bacteria, so that the L-amino acid is produced.SELECTED DRAWING: None
