To provide a ladder shape bearing wall frame capable of improving bearing force, rigidity, and energy absorption capacity.
A ladder shape bearing wall frame 1 includes: two metallic stringers 2 erected parallel to each other; and a plurality of metallic cross members 3 installed in a vertically juxtaposed manner between the stringers 2, 2. Both ends of each of the cross members 3 are respectively joined to both of the stringers 2, 2, via stiffening members 4 for stiffening the cross members 3. The stiffening member 4 has: a plate part 4a brought into surface contact with a surface of the stringer 2 to be joined thereto; and a plate part 4b brought into surface contact with a side face of the cross member 3 to be joined thereto. The stiffening member 4 may have a flat shape in which both of the plate parts 4a, 4b are flat or an L-shape in which the plate parts 4a, 4b have a bent part therebetween.
