To provide a ladder type SAW filter miniaturized while maintaining filter characteristics by utilizing a part of a grating reflector for constituting a surface acoustic wave(SAW) resonator as a conductive pattern.

The SAW resonators 2-6 are arranged together along he propagation direction of surface acoustic waves on a piezoelectric substrate 1. A signal line 7, a ground electrode 8 and a ground line 9 are disposed so as to successively parallelly, serially and parallelly connect the respective SAW resonators 2-6 and constitute a ladder type circuit. The SAW resonators 2-6 are constituted by respectively arranging an IDT electrode along the propagation direction of the surface acoustic waves and the grating reflectors on both sides on the piezoelectric substrate 1. A part of the grating reflectors for constituting the SAW resonators 2-6 is utilized as the signal line 7 and the ground line 9. The clearance of the grating reflector and the signal line 7 and the ground line 9 is eliminated and this filter is miniaturized.
