Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain non-cross-linked polyolefin resin foam particles which have good capability of being fused to one another when molding in a mold and give a molded foam having high adhrence to a base material and a very low shrinkage factor by using a specified resin. CONSTITUTION: The particles are obtained by using as the base resin a mixture of a polyolefin and a polyene polymer having vinyl bonds in the side chain. It is desirable that the polyene polymer accounts for 5-45wt.% of the resin mixture. The polyene polymer is a polymer produced by using as the raw material unsaturated hydrocarbon having at least two double bonds in the molecule. Butadiene is particularly desirable as the unsaturated hydrocarbon, and 1, 2- polybutadiene is most suitable as the polyene polymer. As the polyolefin, a propylene random copolymer is preferably used in particular. The foam particles are obtained by heating a foaming agent and resin pellets dispersed in a dispersion medium, such as water, in the presence of a fusion inhibitor and preferably a dispersion aid in a hermetically closed vessel to infiltrate the foaming agent into the resin and discharging the contents into a low-pressure part.
