Title:
LARGE-CELL YEAST BELONGING TO TORULASPORA GENUS
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS60221079
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain a diploid yeast strain, by proliferating a yeast cell belonging to Torulaspora genus in the presence of cytochalasin, and collecting a large cell strain from the produced colonies.
CONSTITUTION: A yeast cell belonging to Torulaspora genus (e.g. Torulaspora delbrucckii) is preferably converted to protoplast, and proliferated in the presence of a cytochalasin compound. A large cell strain is selected from the produced colonies to obtain the objective diploid yeast strain having diploid chromosome. The diploid yeast strain has no artificial mutation gene character such as auxotrophicity on the chromosome.
