Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a laser apparatus which has a simple structure and is mechanically rigid.
SOLUTION: The laser apparatus includes a thin plate-like microchip laser medium 2 adhered onto a heat sink 1, and a waveguide optical system 3 disposed concentrically on the medium 2. The stimulation light 5 incident from an external unit is absorbed by the system 3 and the medium 2 disposed concentrically while the light 5 is fully reflected in the system 3. The stimulation light which is not absorbed, is reflected on the periphery of the system 3 and again absorbed by the medium 2.
