Abstract:
To provide a laser welding apparatus capable of suppressing fluctuations in a measured value of penetration depth of a welded portion so as to improve measurement accuracy of the penetration depth.SOLUTION: A laser welding apparatus 10 comprises: a laser oscillator 11; and an optical interferometer 20. The optical interferometer 20 comprises: at least a light source 21; an optical branching part 22; an optical coupling part 23; a reference mirror 24; and a reference optical path length adjusting mechanism 50. The light source 21 emits measurement light ML. The optical branching unit 22 branches the measurement light ML into object light ML1 and reference light ML2. The optical coupling part 23 combines the object light ML1 reflected by a welding part 15a and reference light ML2 reflected by a reference mirror 24 so as to generate interference light for measuring penetration depth of the welding part 15a. A reference optical path length adjusting mechanism 50 moves the reference mirror 24 along a traveling direction of the reference light ML2 so as to change optical path length of the reference light ML2.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
