Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a latex of vinyl chloride copolymer comprising a particle having a structure of a core and one or two layers covering it, a manufacturing method of a copolymer latex prepared by micro suspension polymerization of the latex, and its application as a paint and a plastisol.
SOLUTION: This manufacturing method of a copolymer latex by micro suspension polymerization is, (a) in the presence of a seed polymer comprising mainly vinyl chloride which is preliminarily prepared by micro suspension polymerization contg. a polymerization initiator which is at least soluble in an org. solvent, an alkyl(meth)acrylate having a 1-8C alkyl group and at least a monomer selected from among a group of vinyl esters of mono- and poly-carboxylic acid are reacted, and (b) vinyl chloride is introduced, if necessary, and the copolymer obtd. in the step (a) is over polymerized.
