Abstract:
PURPOSE:To improve the mechanical strength of a piezoelectric body, by compounding two or more metallic elements having six-coordination oxygen, making the average valence to be quadrivalent, providing an oxide having a spinnel structure, and compounding said materials at a specified ratio. CONSTITUTION:Lead, A, M, titanium, and zirconium are compounded at an atomic ratio of v=2w/t:x:y:z. In this compound, a 0.05-3.5 wt.% oxide having a spinel structure is added. Thus a lead-zirconate-titanate based composition is provided. A is a metallic element of 12-coordination oxygen, (t) is its valence, and M is a material obtained by compounding two or more metallic elements of six-coordination oxygen and by making the average valence to be quadrivalent. The ratios in details are 0.95 <=v+w<=1.05, w<=0.1, x>=0.05, and x+y+z=1.0. The metallic element of 12-coordination oxygen shown by A is a bivalent metallic element such as Sr. The oxygen having the spinel structure is an EAl2O4-type compound (E is a metallic element). In order to manufacture a piezoelectric body from the composition, sintering is performed in general, or temporarily sintered powder and an organic material are made to be a composite material.
