This leaving object accident preventing system includes an operating table 31, a machine table 32, a gauze counter 33, a display 34, a portable RFID tag search device 35, and readers/writers incorporated under the operating table 31, the machine table 32 and the gauze counter 33. The reader/writer and the portable RFID tag search device 35 are provided with antennas and transreceivers and reads/writes information of the RFID tag attached to the gauze and the appliance via the antennas and the transreceivers; and the information is processed by a computer and displayed on the display 34.
