To provide a lighting circuit carrying out dimming control with lessened shift of colors of light which the LED emits, alleviating thermal stress due to electric current flowing through the LED, making long life improvement of the LED, and enabling to achieve high reliability, in an LED dimming lighting device for dimming control by changing light flux of the LED.
The lighting device includes an LED load 2 consisting of one or a plurality of LEDs, a dimming signal part 4 outputting dimming signals for controlling light output of the LED load 2, and lighting circuits 3a, 5 alternatively supplying a first current If1 and a second current If2 to the LED load 2 from power sources 1a, 1b by receiving dimming signals from the dimming signal part 4. The first current If1 is to be a current near the rated current so as the LED load 2 to emit a predetermined color, and the second current If2 is to be a variable current by receiving the dimming signals from the dimming signal part 4.
