Abstract:
To provide an LED turn-on device capable of turning on light emitting diodes except light emitting elements in which an open fault occurs among a plurality of series-connected light emitting diodes even when the number of the light emitting elements in which an open fault occurs increases.
The LED turn-on device 1 includes SIDACs (Silicon Diode for Alternating Current) S1 to Sn provided in pairs with light emitting diodes LED1 to LEDn (n: an arbitrary integer of ≥3), and an overcurrent suppression portion 11. The overcurrent suppression portion 11 includes resistances R1, R2, a Zener diode ZD, and a switch element Q and constitutes a so-called overcurrent suppression circuit.
