Abstract:
PURPOSE:To improve the operability and certainty of manual focusing in wide macro photographing in a video camera having variable speed zoom function by realizing an optimum zoom variable speed according to the pressing force of a zoom switch in general photographing, and setting an optimum constant speed to manual focusing not related to the pressing force of the zoom switch without using the zoom variable speed in wide macro area photographing. CONSTITUTION:When zoom lenses 2, 3 are situated in a general zoom area, the drives of the zoom lenses 2, 3 can be driven at variable speeds by varying the pressing forces of zoom switches 23, 24, and when the zoom lenses 2, 3 are situated in wide macro area, the zoom lenses 2, 3 are driven at constant speeds regardless of the pressing forces of the zoom switches 23, 24, or the speed setting ranges are varied to drive the lenses at variable speeds, whereby the focusing regulation in the wide macro area can be satisfactorily conducted. A lens control device having such a constitution is suitably used in a video camera.
