Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the lens effects of a slab by realizing the harmonic matching of the both factors of a heat insulator and a light source, and adjusting the temperature distribution of the slab.
SOLUTION: This device is constituted of a medium supporting body 1 for supporting a fixed laser oscillating medium 11, a light source supporting body 13 supported by the medium supporting body for supporting a light source 32, a heat insulator 45 interposed between the medium supporting body 1 and the fixed laser oscillating medium 11, and an adjusting mechanism for geographically adjusting the angle of a valid central face 55 of a light beam for excitation to be generated from a light source 32 by adjusting the angle of the light source 32 for the light source supporting body 13. The heat insulator 56 is interposed between a cross face crossing a light receiving face for receiving the light beam for excitation among the external faces of the fixed laser oscillating medium 11 and the medium supporting body 1. In this case, one of the significant factors of the non-uniformity of the heat distribution of the fixed laser oscillating medium 11, especially, the surface side region lies in the existence of the heat insulator 56. The non-uniformity of the heat distribution due to the existence of the heat insulator 56 strongly depends on the unsuitability of the irradiation angle of the beam for excitation, especially, incident energy density depending on the irradiation angle. Then, the non-uniformity is validly corrected by performing geometrical adjustment of the irradiation angle of the beam for excitation.
