To provide a lens performance evaluator which enables measuring of drawing performance of a lens at a higher accuracy.

In the lens performance evaluator in which an image of a pinhole chart 4 is formed on an image sensor with pixels arrayed in the directions X and Y through a lens of the camera 1 to evaluate the performance of the lens of the camera 1 using an image data of the pinhole chart 4 outputted from the image sensor, the pinhole chart 4 is moved in the directions X and Y by a moving value smaller than a pixel pitch of the image sensor to store image data of the pinhole chart 4 taken with the camera 1 at each moving position in the directions X and Y of the pinhole chart 4 as quantity of light data and tae moving positions of the pinhole chart 4 are detected from the image data to make position information for overlapping the images. Based on the respective pieces of position information obtained, the image data as quantity of light data are made to overlap in the directions X and Y respectively to generate information for evaluating lens performance having a quantity of light distribution with the pitch thereof smaller than the pixel pitches of the image sensors in the directions X and Y.
