Abstract:
As a letter posting system for appropriately processing letters to deceased persons: unique identification codes allocated to each of a plurality of post boxes for posting letters to deceased persons, situated in an administration zone of an administrator, are registered, and deceased person related information including the names of deceased persons associated with the post boxes for posting letters to deceased persons are registered in association with the unique identification codes; an association between letter issuing codes assigned to letters dedicated to the system and the unique identification codes is administered; a matching process is performed using the letter issuing code assigned to a letter that has arrived addressed to the administrator, to extract various items of information that have been registered in association with the letter issuing code; and information for identifying the post box for posting letters to deceased persons that is the posting target of the letter that has arrived addressed to the administrator is output on the basis of the various items of information obtained as a result of the matching performed by the matching process.
