To provide a level table suitable for placing a precision working device, etc. thereon, and to provide a level table for automatically making its table surface horizontal or giving thereto a prescribed inclination even if it is placed on an inclined floor.
This level table comprises at least four legs 4 to 7 and is equipped with motors for adjusting the heights of the respective legs 4 to 7 and an inclination detector 3 for detecting a two-dimensional inclination of the level table surface 1. The direction and size of the inclination are calculated from output data of the inclination detector 3. A difference is calculated between a vector obtained by this and a target value vector. A vector is calculated which is point-symmetrical to a vector representing the difference. The motors for adjusting the heights of the legs 4 to 7 are actuated based on the point-symmetrical vectors to automatically adjust the level of the table surface 1. Therefore, the level of the table surface 1 can be accurately and automatically adjusted.
