Title:
LEVER CONNECTOR
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3687874
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain low insertion force without increasing the size of a connector, freely set a rack position so as to enhance design freedom by providing a rack engaging with a gear and a cam slit on the opposite faces of a slide mutually.
SOLUTION: Cam slits 36a to 36c, 37a to 37c are formed at equal intervals on the inner faces 34 of two flat plate-like slides 36, a rack 40 is overlapping formed at positions corresponding to the cam slits 36a, 37a on an outer face 38. When a slide 30 is moved so as to draw a plug inward by the cam slits 36a to 36c, 37a to 37c and to fit the same into a cap 2, and a lever 10 is turned to the final position, pawls formed at the end portion of an operation portion 24 and the protrusions of latch arms protruded from the side walls 14a, 14b of the cap 2 are engaged so as to hold the lever 10. Like this, since the rack 40 is constructed by overlapping with cam slits 36a, 37a, the same is not required to be protruded in the lengthwise direction of a connector 1, and also the sufficiently long rack can be provided even if the intervals of the respective cam slits are narrowed so as to contribute to low fitting-in force.
