Abstract:
PURPOSE: To satisfactorily feed sheets under the stable sheet feed pressure regardless of the type of sheets without generating troubles such as the defective lift of a sheet feed base and a motor lock and prevent a long waiting time when the lift quantity of the sheet feed base is large in supplying sheets or in removing a sheet jam.
CONSTITUTION: A lift control device is provided with an upper limit sensor 19 detecting that the upper face of sheets on a sheet feed base 1 is located at a specific height position when the sheet feed base 1 is lifted. A motor 13 is intermittently driven in the lift direction of the sheet feed base 1 until the upper limit sensor 19 detects that the upper face of sheets on the sheet feed base 1 is located at the specific height position, and the intermittent drive period of the motor 13 is gradually extended in response to the elapsed time until the upper limit sensor 19 detects that the upper face of sheets on the sheet feed base 1 is located at the specific height position.
