To provide a lifting device capable of decreasing the whole width of the device, and making that compact, without complicating a structure so much.
The lifting device is provided with a lifting stand 3 on a lifting guide portion 2 lifting in regard to a strut portion 1, and lifting driving motor 4 at an upper part of the strut portion 1. The lifting driving motor 4 is provided with a rotating shaft 4A in a generally horizontal state so as to project from a side of the strut portion 1. The rotating shaft 4A projected from the side of the strut portion 1 is provided with a winding portion 6 winding a long coupling member 5 such as a belt and rope so as to be unreeled. The long coupling member 5 unreeled from the winding portion 6 is positioned on the side of the strut portion 1. An unreeling tip end of the long coupling member 5 is coupled to a coupling portion 7 formed at a position that is a side to the strut portion 1 of a lifting guide portion 2, and the lifting stand 3 is controlled to lift by driving of the lifting driving motor 4. A stably moving means 8 stably lifting the lifting stand 3 by a plurality of guide rollers 8A so as not to tilt in regard to the strut portion 1 is provided on the strut portion and the lifting guide portion 2.
