Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of driving a laser element that can achieve both suppression of variation in peak wavelength of laser light and suppression of speckle noise.SOLUTION: A light emitting device comprises a laser light source, driving means for driving the laser light source, and control means for varying a driving current that the driving means applies to the laser light source based upon a reference value as a center value. The control means varies the driving current so that a unit time of application of a first current larger than the reference value is shorter than a unit time of application of a second current smaller than the reference value.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
