To provide a light-emitting element with small distortion occurring at the interface with an organic material layer and a second conductive layer arranged on it, in which thickness of the light-emitting layer is maintained uniformly and loss of conductivity of the second conductive layer can be suppressed.
In the light-emitting element 1, a first base body 2 is composed of a transparent first base material 21 of a flat plate shape, a gas barrier layer 22 to cover all of the one surface of the first base material, a plurality of first conductive layers 23A, 23B arranged mutually separated on the gas barrier layer, and an organic material layer 24 arranged so as to be overlapped partially with one of the first conductive layer 1. A second base body 3 is composed of a second base material 3 of cap shape with a recessed part, an insulating layer 32 arranged so as to cover all of the bottom face and side face in the recessed part of the second base material and a thick portion of the second base material continuing to the side face, and a second conductive layer 34 arranged so as to cover a part of the insulating layer. Then, the first base body and the second base body are superposed so that the recessed part may envelope the organic material layer.
