Title:
LIGHT OIL FOR REDUCING PARTICULATE EMISSION
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH11217575
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

To obtain a light oil for reducing particulate emission by which both amounts of SOF (a component soluble in an organic solvent) and ISF (another component insoluble therein) constituting a particulate substance emitted from diesel engines can be minimized.

This light oil is normal chain paraffin-based hydrocarbons composed of fractions with distillation temperature of up to 320°C wherein the distillation residue is ≤3 vol.% at 320°C according to the distillation test based on ASTMD 86-90. The fuel consists mainly of normal chain paraffins wherein an amount of branched paraffins and/or naphthene is ≤2 vol.% when hydrocarbons other than the normal chain paraffins in the fuel are mainly such compounds and an amount of aromatic hydrocarbons is ≤1 vol.% when hydrocarbons other than the normal chain paraffins in the fuel are mainly the aromatic hydrocarbons.
