PURPOSE: To precisely transmit the light from the small area of an image holding surface by disposing a thick dielectric material which provides sufficient electrical insulation between a photosensitive element array and the electrostatic charges accumulated on the image holding surface under scanning.
CONSTITUTION: A scanner system 10 includes the photosensitive element array disposed continuously apart spacings within the small-area photosensitive elements 44, 46, 48 deposited with thin-film semiconductor alloy materials and forms the detectable electric signals meeting the intensity of the incident light on the elements 44, 46, 48 emitted from the corresponding small-area parts of the images of the image holding surface 14. The photosensitive element array includes the photosensitive element array operated and arranged to cover the parts image holding surface 14. Further, the layers forming one of the electrodes of the photosensitive elements 44, 46, 48 are disposed on the photodetector surface 19 of a substrate 18 formed from the array fused by orientation of optical fibers. As a result, the respective optical fibers forming the substrate 18 are capable of transmitting the incident optical images on a light incident surface 17 without loss, i.e., with high resolution, high efficiency and low aberrations to the photodetecting surface 19.
