Abstract:

To obtain a cover capable of self-cleaning with rain water or being cleaned by such a easy labor as water spray or rinse by providing a surface layer including a photocatalyst grain on the surface of a light source cover base for traffic signal.

The layer including a photocatalyst grain is formed on the surface of the base for the light source cover for the traffic signal. By adopting a surface structure like this, the surface of the light source cover for the traffic signal is made highly hidrophilic corresponding to exciting light of photocatalyst. Thereby hydrophilic is stronger than lipophilic on the surface. In addition, when the surface of the light source cover for the traffic signal is exposed to rain water, stuck and stacked materials and/or contaminant are washed away by rain drops. In addition, when the surface layer consists of only photocatalyst, it is desired to be oxide.
