Abstract:
To provide a light source device which enables the continuation of endoscope observation by lighting up a sub lamp even when the power supply from commercial power is shut off due to a power failure.
A light source device 10 has a main lamp 36 and a sub lamp 37 as light sources and a storage battery 40 which is rechargeable by commercial power. When the main lamp 36 suffers a breakdown, the sub lamp 37 lights up by commercial power. When the main lamp 36 does not light up due to the power failure, the sub lamp 37 lights up by the storage battery 40.
