Abstract:
To generate a high luminance image signal and a low luminance image signal.
An imaging device is controlled so as to alternately repeat a light-receiving period and a blanking period. The imaging device accumulates signal charges according to an amount of light received in the light receiving period. The imaging device outputs the signal charges accumulated in the light receiving period right before a blanking period. An LED is controlled so as to emit illumination light in first and second light emitting periods within each light receiving period. The length of the first light emitting period is determined so as to be longer than the second light emitting period.
