To provide a lighting control device which can estimate nearly precisely the illumination intensity of an area even if a photographing means having an AGC function is utilized.

The device is equipped with a photographing means 1 having an automatic gain control (AGC) function for storing the area lighted by the light source of a lighting apparatus as image data; and a data processing means 2 for computing the brightness of the actual area based on variation amount of the brightness of the image data formed by operating the AGC function.
