To provide a lighting device capable of easily controlling wide light distribution through narrow light distribution without showing point light source images, even if a point light source of strong directivity such as an LED is used.
The lighting device is provided with a light source 16, and a light guide 18 equipped with a light-incident part 24 letting in light from the light source and an irradiation area 30 emitting light incident from the light source outside for guiding light emitted from the light source. At least a part of the irradiation area is directed toward an opposite side of a direction of light incident into the light-incident part. The irradiation area is cylindrical and at least a part of it is directed toward an opposite side of the direction of light incident into the light-incident part, with a thickness of the irradiation area guiding light from the light-incident part to the cylindrical irradiation area formed larger than that of the other irradiation area.
