PURPOSE: To provide a lighting device which can display whether the lighting circuit is on operating or not even when an illuminating lamp burnt out, and its display can be conducted by a little electric power.
CONSTITUTION: A lighting circuit rectifies a commercial power supply voltage, and converts the same into a high frequency to feed to an incandescent lamp L. A rectifier DB is connected to the incandescent lamp L in parallel, and a capacitor C5 and a series connection body of a current limiting resistor R6 and a light emitting diode D6 are connected to the output stage of the rectifier DB. When the incandescent lamp L burnt out, a minute oscillation voltage generated by the lighting circuit 1 is rectified, is smoothed by the capacitor D6, and is stored so that the light emitting diode D6 emits light.
