To accurately and stably pierce a needle into a stitch by moving a fabric part in response to the movement of the fabric part to be sewn in compliance to the fabric part whose position is not directly corrected by a fabric guide means.

Each fabric guide guides the first fabric part so as to correct its position by a plurality of rollers 30 based on the detection results of a plurality of fabric end sensors 28, deflection of the corrected first fabric part is detected by a deflection sensor 32, the deflection of the first fabric part is corrected by rollers 34 based on the detection results of the sensor 32, and the states of the corrected first fabric part is picked up by a television camera 36. A fabric moving device which moves the fabric part in relation to the picked-up fabric part whose position is not corrected by the fabric guide, namely, the second fabric part, in the needle piercing position (B) in response to the movement of the first fabric part. This constitution can accurately and stably pierce the needle into the stitch.
