PURPOSE: To attain uniform coating on a predetermined part and to improve productivity, by allowing a to-be-coated substance to revolve between a coating rotor and a coating guide of a work rotor, whereby to bring the substance into contact with the coating rotor, and discharging the substance which has been coated with a liquid from a discharge guide of the work rotor into a lower part.

CONSTITUTION: A coating apparatus comprising a feeder 5 which lines up substances 9 to be coated, such as blind plugs, and feeds them intermittently one by one, and a coater 7 which coats a liquid on parts to be coated of the substances 9 fed by the feeder 5. The coater 7 comprises a liquid tank 35, a coating rotor 25 which rotates, while being partly dipped in a liquid in the tank 35, with part of the liquid adhered thereto, and a work rotor 27. The work rotor 27 is positioned such that its peripheral surface faces the peripheral surface of the coating rotor 25, and the diameters of the two rotors are different from each other by a predetermined pitch. The work rotor 27 has a coating guide 27a which allows the to-be- coated part of the substance 9 to revolve between the peripheral surfaces of the coating rotors 25 and 27 and to come into contact with the coating rotor, and a discharge guide 27b which discharges the coated substance into a lower part after a predetermined revolution and contact. As a result, a predetermined part can be coated uniformly ad the productivity can be improved.
