Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To manufacture the liquid crystal display device with high performance in high yield by allowing filter elements to overlap with one another.
SOLUTION: An array substrate 10 has thin film transistors(TFT) 14 formed as switching elements on a substrate 11. On the TFTs 14, a color filter layer 24 is deposited. Here, the respective filter elements 24a to 24c mutually have overlap parts OL. On the respective filter elements, pixel electrodes 30 are deposited. The pixel electrodes 30 are connected to the source electrodes 20 of the TFTs 14 through openings 26 bored in the filter elements 24a to 24c. Thus, a thick color filter layer 24 is arranged between the TFTs 14 and pixel electrodes 30, so coupling with the pixel electrodes 30 is suppressed. Further, the filter elements 24a to 24c have the overlap parts OL, so such a defect that the filter elements are peeled at the time of the manufacture is eliminated.
