To more certainly dispose a liquid crystal of which the quantity is appropriate to a space surrounded by a sealing material.

The method for manufacturing the liquid crystal display device has the steps of: forming the sealing material 252 on one substrate out of a pair of substrates 48; disposing the liquid crystal on the one or the other substrate; and laminating the other substrate to the one substrate, and has a volume calculating step of calculating the volume of the space surrounded by the one and other substrates and the sealing material 252 on the time the other substrate has been bonded to the one substrate prior to the step of disposing the liquid crystal on the one or the other substrate, wherein the liquid crystal with the volume appropriate to the volume of the space calculated in the volume calculating step is disposed on the one or the other substrate.
