A liquid crystal display device includes: a liquid crystal display panel; a backlight unit disposed on a back surface side of the liquid crystal display panel; a frame member for storing the liquid crystal display panel and the backlight unit; and a front window adhered to a display surface side of the liquid crystal display panel exposed from an opening portion formed on the frame member, through an adhesive layer. The liquid crystal display panel is composed of a first substrate disposed on the backlight unit side, and a second substrate oppositely disposed to the first substrate through a liquid crystal layer; includes an area exposed from the opening portion of the frame member; and is provided with a substrate deformation suppression layer formed on the second substrate along a side part of the second substrate.
