To form protection diodes in a frame region in a liquid crystal display having a configuration in which the frame region around a display region is set as a reflective display region.
In order to set the frame region 20 as the reflective display region, a pixel electrode 110 and a reflective electrode 111 are formed in the frame region 20. Each of protection diodes D1, D2 formed in the frame region 20 is formed by connecting a gate electrode and a drain electrode or a source electrode to a TFT (Thin Film Transistor) formed by the same process as that for a TFT formed in the display region 10 through a connection electrode 130. On a portion where the connection electrode 130 is formed, a through-hole 120 is formed into the pixel electrode 110 and the reflective electrode 111 of the frame area 20. Consequently, the protection diodes D1, D2 can be formed without increasing processes.
