PURPOSE: To increase the frame frequency of liquid crystal driving by four times by using a small-capacity memory by providing a common driving means which selects plural common electrodes at least in 1H(one horizontal scanning period) corresponding to the time division of video data.

CONSTITUTION: A stored data output means 12 is stored with video data of, for example, the high-order three bits of video data and outputs the video data of the high-order three bits while delaying video data of each bit by a 1/4 field at intervals of a 1/4 field. A video data supply means 15 puts the stored data from the stored data output means 12 and video data which are not passed through storage means M1 - M3 together into one in a 1H period and outputs the composite data to a segment electrode driving means 16. Segment electrodes are driven corresponding to the video data outputted by the video data supply means 15. Further, common electrode driving means 20 - 23 drives plural common electrodes corresponding to the respective video data outputted by the video data supply means 15 in the 1H period. Consequently, the memory which is used is reduced and the frame frequency of the liquid crystal driving is increased by four times.
