To provide a one-side substrate terminal type liquid crystal element which can be made much more small-sized without short-circuiting an electrode nor a wire, and suitable for frame narrowing when used as a display element and also easy to manufacture.
First scanning electrodes 3a arranged in a 1st area distant from a driving circuit element 5 among scanning electrodes 3 provided on a glass substrate 1 are so constituted that cross connection terminals 3a1 at respective one-ends are electrically connected to crossed connection terminals 3a2 arranged opposite to a glass substrate 2 across an anisotropic conductive seal material 13 and electrically connected to a driving circuit element 5 by 1st scanning 3rd wires 6a. Second scanning electrodes 3b arranged in an area (b) close to the driving circuit element 5 for the glass substrate 1 are electrically connected to the driving circuit element 5 from second scanning 1st wires 6b1 arranged in an area overlapping with the 1st scanning 3rd wires 6a through the cross connection terminals 6b11, the anisotropic conductive seal material 13, crossed connection terminals 6b12, and the 2nd scanning 3rd wires 6b2 on the side of the glass substrate 2.
