To provide a liquid crystal panel which can constitute a liquid crystal display device whose contrast and display color are hardly changed by a viewing angle or azimuth and to provide the liquid crystal display device using the same.
The liquid crystal display panel is provided with at least a liquid crystal cell, a first polarizer disposed on one side of the liquid crystal cell, a second polarizer disposed on the other side of the liquid crystal cell, a first optical element disposed between the liquid crystal cell and the first polarizer, a second optical element disposed between the liquid crystal cell and the first optical element and a third optical element disposed between the liquid crystal cell and the second polarizer. The absorption axis of the first polarizer is orthogonal to the absorption axis of the second polarizer, the first optical element has a relation of nz>nx=ny, the second optical element has a relation of nx>ny=nz and its slow axis is parallel to the absorption axis of the first polarizer and the third optical element has optical isotropy.
