To provide a liquid drop ejection head exhibiting good ejection stability for intermittency, a liquid drop ejector comprising it, and a functional film formed by the liquid drop ejection head.
The liquid drop ejection head comprises a cavity 15 for containing a liquid material, and a nozzle plate 12 having a nozzle 18 communicating with the cavity 15 wherein a nozzle opening on the side opposite to the cavity 15 serves as an ejection opening 9 and liquid material contained in the cavity 15 is ejected from the ejection opening 9 of the nozzle 18. A liquid-repellent film 11 is formed on the inner wall face of the nozzle 18 on the ejection opening 9 side. The liquid-repellent film 11 in the nozzle exhibits a difference of 20° or less between the advance contact angle and the retreat contact angle for the liquid material being ejected and a retreat contact angle of 40° or above at least on the cavity 15 side.
