An inkjet recording apparatus includes the recording head that ejects ink from a nozzle, and a capping section that sucks the ink from the recording head by driving the suction pump while the capping section touches the recording head. The capping section includes a square frame-like seal part 7b consisting of an elastic member and touches the recording head to enclose the nozzle, and a cap holder 9 that maintains the seal part 7b. In the seal part 7b, the width of sides of the square frame is partially different.
