Abstract:
PURPOSE:To hold stable emitting function by preventing the penetration of impurities and attenuating the propagation of a pressure wave, by providing a slit, whose groove width is set so as to be smaller than the diameter of orifice, to the peripheral wall on the side brought into contact with a recording liquid tank of a liquid passage forming member. CONSTITUTION:A slit 11 having a width smaller than the diameter of an orifice 2 is provided to the peripheral wall brought into contact with a recording liquid tank of a liquid passage forming member 10 forming a liquid passage 1 and a recording liquid is supplied to the liquid passage 1 through said slit 11. By the slit 11 having the width smaller than the diameter of the orifice 2, the clogging of dust generated in the orifice 2 is prevented. The following point is considered in setting the width or length of the slit 11. That is, when the fluid resistance of the recording liquid at the slit 11 is too high, the replenishment after the emission of the recording liquid is obstructed to bring about lowering of the response frequency. When the fluid resistance is too low, the recording liquid flows back through the slit 11 by the pressure wave generated at the time of emission of the recording liquid and, also, the lowering of response frequency is brought about. By this constitution, the optimum response frequency is obtained in setting the dimension of the slit 11.
