Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid level measuring instrument which can measure the surface level of a liquid contained in the hole of a container in a non- contacting state with high accuracy without giving any chemical influence on the liquid and a dispensing device using the instrument. SOLUTION: In a dispensing device in which a dispensing head is attached to the output section of a head driving device in a downward direction so as to discharge a liquid into the recessed hole 51 of a container 5 or to suck the liquid from the hole 51, a sensor probe 31 incorporating a detecting electrode 32 is protruded downward from the side section of the dispensing head and a grounding electrode 7 which is elongated in a curved state so as to surround the bottom face of the hole 51 along the bottom face of the hole 51 in the container 5 is attached to the container 5. The detecting electrode 32 of the probe 31 is connected to a measuring circuit which deduces the surface level of the liquid in the hole 51 based on the capacitance of the electrode 32 which varies depending upon the surface level of the liquid.
