Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid transfer device using a piezoelectric material element for driving a diaphragm to transfer liquid, having uncomplicated construction permitting efficient deformation of the diaphragm and effective amplification of the deformation of the diaphragm.
SOLUTION: The liquid transfer device 1 comprises a piezoelectric actuator plate 10 arranged to close a pressure chamber 21a in which the liquid is stored. The piezoelectric actuator plate 10 has a piezoelectric material layer 13 constructed to be contractible in the planar direction by the application of an electric field and the diaphragm 14 to be adhered to the piezoelectric material layer 13 so as to be superimposed thereon. The piezoelectric material layer 13 is arranged at the peripheral edge of at least the pressure chamber 21a, but it is not arranged in an internal region closer to the center than to the peripheral edge or arranged thinner than arranged at the peripheral edge.
