Title:
LITHIUM BASE SECONDARY BATTERY
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3115839
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To modify the surface of lithium in charge/discharge by using an electrolyte to which at least one of three kinds of specific hydrofluorids is added.
SOLUTION: A lithium base negative electrode has high reducibility, reacts with various materials in the atmosphere or in an electrolyte, and forms a film on the surface. The film affects current distribution in lithium metal deposition, and current is concentrated on an active part. Since the deterioration attendant on charge/discharge cycles accelerates the unevenness, the unevenness of the film in charging should be retarded. An electrolyte containing 50-10000ppm of at least one of hydrofluorides of quaternary ammonium fluoride, quaternary phosphonium fluoride, and tertiary amine represented by formulas I, II, III is used to control the state of the film formed in electrolytic deposition, and current is made uniform. In the formulas I, II, III, R1, R2, R3, R4, R5 are an alkyl group having 1-4 carbon atoms, and m is 1-6.
