Abstract:
To provide a lithium ion secondary battery which can eliminate an initial irreversible capacity without largely changing a conventional battery configuration, and which allows a capacity reduced by repetition of charge and discharge to be recovered.SOLUTION: A lithium ion secondary battery comprises: a positive electrode connected to a positive electrode terminal; a negative electrode connected to a negative electrode terminal; an electrolyte solution; a lithium ion-supplying electrode serving to supply lithium ions to the positive electrode, the negative electrode or the electrolyte solution; a case; a current control circuit in the case, which includes a switching element for controlling the connection of the lithium ion-supplying electrode with the positive electrode or the negative electrode; and a control signal generation mechanism serving to generate a control signal outside the case. The switching element operates on the basis of the control signal from the control signal generation mechanism.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1A
