Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a load circuit protection device capable of reduction in sizes of an electric wire and a semiconductor switch by using a switch circuit simulating a fuse.SOLUTION: Upon setting a permissible temperature of an electric wire to a simulated permissible temperature lower than an actual temperature, and changing a heat resistance R used in a heat generation temperature arithmetic formula and a heat radiation temperature arithmetic formula to a simulated heat resistance R*, a calorific value and a radiation amount of the electric wire are calculated and a current temperature of the electric wire is estimated. If this estimated temperature reaches the simulated permissible temperature, an electronic switch S1 is turned off to protect a load circuit. As a result, both the electric wire and the semiconductor switch used in the load circuit can be protected from overheat.
